The Siberian Husky is a working dog breed that originated in Northeast Asia. Bred by the Chukchi people for sled pulling and companionship, they are famous for their wolf-like appearance and striking eyes.

Built for the North

Huskies possess a thick double coat that protects them from brutal arctic temperatures. Their paws are naturally padded for snow, and they have incredible endurance, capable of traveling long distances with moderate loads.

Personality and Howls

Huskies are known for being exceptionally social and rarely bark; instead, they are famous for their “talking” and melodic howls. They are pack-oriented and thrive in families where they aren’t left alone for long periods. Their friendly nature makes them poor guard dogs but excellent companions.

Exercise and Escape Artists

A Husky needs a lot of daily exercise to burn off their high energy. They are also legendary escape artists, capable of jumping high fences or digging under them. A secure yard and plenty of mental stimulation are absolute musts for this breed.
